HIPAA and Saint Louis University

The purpose of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) program is to guide the University’s efforts to comply with the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule by creating and maintaining appropriate standards, procedures, and controls to prevent, detect, contain, and correct security violations pertaining to Protected Health Information (PHI).

Saint Louis University endeavors to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health care information (PHI) by taking reasonable and appropriate steps to address the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
